Promoting Swiss-American Studies since 1927
SAHS Centennial 2027

The Centennial Committee of the Swiss American Historical Society is organizing to plan and consider ideas for celebrating our milestone 100th anniversary, which will occur in the year 2027. In addition to a trip to Switzerland and holding our annual meeting in Chicago where the Society was founded in 1927, we also are interested in potentially doing an exhibit at the Embassy of Switzerland and/or the Swiss Center of North America, doing an oral history project, finding donors to contribute to the Leo Schelbert Award, creating merchandise, potentially creating a video and publishing a commemorative book on the history of the Society. We also have created a special logo as you can see above. And if you have any suggestions please share them with us.
MEETINGS
The Centennial Committee's first meeting is on February 8, 2025. We will meet virtually using Google Meet every few months. At the Annual Meeting on October 4th, we will give a presentation, along with time to discuss ideas and receive feedback from members. Virtual Meetings will be held on Saturdays, typically early afternoon Eastern Time, so that people in other time zones (including Switzerland) can all meet together. We welcome any members suggestions, ideas, or potential partners or sponsors! Please send to: swissamericanhistoricalsociety@gmail.com. Thank you!
